What kid doesn’t love to see animals? Located in City Park, the Denver Zoo is 80 acres of fun for children of all ages. Be sure to check out the new (2013) elephant exhibit.

The Children’s Museum Denver at Marisco Campus

Sun, rain, or snow this is a great place for kids to learn, explore and burn off some extra energy. This place is great for kids 2-7 years old, but all kids are welcome. They recently (2015) finished a $16.1 million expansion doubling their exhibit space.

Elitch Gardens

Boasting the oldest theme park in a downtown, Elitch Gardens offers a full day of family fun. There are 53 rides, water rides, and live events. They open the season in May and wrap up the season with their Fright Fest in October.

Adventure Gold & Raceway

Taken in 18 holes of one of the most exciting and interesting mini golf courses in the country. They have 3 themed courses (yes, 54 holes), which will put your short game to the test. Need something a little faster? Try their all-electric go-karts or bump it up with their joystick controlled electric bumper cars. There is also a ropes course to test your balance and courage.

While Colorado is known for producing some of the finest craft beers, Stranahan’s is distilling some the finest whiskey this side of the Mississippi River. Come see the process of distilling one of the smoothest whiskeys in tours. The tour last roughly 1 hour and you must be over 21. It’s highly recommended to make a reservation. Coors Brewery Tour

Just outside of Denver is Golden, CO, once, home to Coors Brewing Company. The company name may have changed, but they still use the fresh mountain water to brew Coors beer. They still provide a free guided tour of the brewery, with limited sampling at the conclusion of the tour.
